Arctic ROOS: Arctic Regional Ocean Observing System

Arctic ROOS is the regional node of EuroGOOS, the European Global Ocean Observing System, with focus on the high latitude seas of Europe. Arctic ROOS promotes, develops and maintains operational monitoring and forecasting of ocean circulation, water masses, ocean surface conditions, sea ice and biological/chemical constituents in these areas. EuroGOOS is a pan-European network operating within the Global Ocean Observing System of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO (IOC GOOS). EuroGOOS is registered as an international non-profit association under Belgian law (EuroGOOS AISBL) and its Secretariat is located in Brussels (http://www.eurogoos.eu).

Arctic ROOS was instrumental in establishing the proposal leading to the INTAROS project which started in December 2016. The Annual meeting of Arctic ROOS in 2016 was held at UNIS in Longyearbyen 22-23 November. Presentations and documents from this meeting are attached.
