The CCGS Amundsen leaves Iqaluit (Nunavut) on July 5,th 2019 and will operate in the Baffin Bay until July, 26th ending in Pond Inlet (Nunavut). The PI for the project is Marcel Babin, director of TAKUVIK and the chief scientist onboard the R/V is Alexandre Forest (Amundsen Science). Three Argo floats will be deployed, equipped with a biogeochemical payload and will measure the following parameters:
pressure, temperature, salinity, dissolved Oxygen, Nitrates, Fluorescence-chla, fluorescence-CDOM, back scattering, radiometry (3 wavelenths and a PAR sensor (Photosynthetically Available Radiation)).
CTD/rosette casts and seawater analyses dedicated to float cross-validation will be performed.
The contacts onboard CCGS Amundsen are Claudie Marec (claudie.marec@takuvik.ulaval.ca) and José Lagunas (jose-luis.lagunas@takuvik.ulaval.ca).
