Arctic Science Summit Week (online)

The Arctic Science Summit Week (ASSW) was cancelled due to the corona virus situation, and instead a number of sessions were organised online. The organiser was the International Arctic Science Committee (IASC) and hosted by the Icelandic Centre for Research and University of Akureyri (https://www.assw2020.is/).

The 5th Arctic Observing Summit from 31 March to 2 April was also cancelled and replaced by online sessions. is part of the ASSW with program from 31 March to 2 April. AOS is an international biennial forum that aims to provide knowledge-based guidance for the design, implementation, coordination and operation of sustained, long-term international network of Arctic observing systems (https://arcticobservingsummit.org/). Roberta Pirzzini from FMI was co-leader of Sub-Theme 1: Design, Optimization and Implementation of the Observing System. Stein sandven was chairnig a poster session on 01 April. Finn Danielsen and Michael Køge Poulsen from NORDECO gave presentations at the breakout session for Working Group 2 on Observing in Support of Adaptation and Mitigation. The INTAROS side meeting planned for 30 March will be postponed to October and be included in the Arctic Circle conference.
