Arctic and Northern Ocean Forum

The workshop had focus on Technology Challenges in the Arctic and Northern Ocean, especially topics related to Observation Technologies (including Autonomous Systems), Applied Data Science, Sustained Arctic Observations. The first Initiative on North and South Pole, supported by IEEE Technical Activities since 2017 was held in Australia in 2017 and 2018, for the Antarctic and Southern Ocean Forum. In 2019 the event was held in Helsinki, Finland, as the Arctic is the place where all Continents that were kept apart by a sea of ice are now connected through waters that global warming is rendering navigable. The workshop was hosted by Finnish Meteorological Institute and sponsored by the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society and the IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society. INTAROS work was presented by Bin Cheng at FMI. The agenda is attached.
